Vrindavan is a holy town in Uttar Pradesh, India. It is famous for the numerous Lord krishna temples, the bubbly and festive environment. It has evolved as a pilgrimage site of Hindus.

Vrindavan is also known to shelter the widows, who want to spend the rest of their lives in company of lord. The people from all over the world come to Vrindavan, spend days in their pursuit to find relief from the griefs.

One can find people chanting the name of lord Krishna throughout the day. Chanting the name of lord is a way to keep yourself distracted from the sorrow.

Places around Vrindavan we will visit:

Mathura: It is the birth place of Lord Krishna.

Gokul: According to history, in Lord krishna’s era, the milk was supplied from Gokul. Go means cow and kul is the family of cowboys or shepherds. It is 26 kilometers far from Vrindavan. By car, it should hardly take half an hour to reach.

Nandgaon: This is the place where Lord Krishna lived with his  parents Nanda Baba and mother Yashoda. This is a place of Lord Krishna’s parental house. Lord Krishna’s parent moved to Nandgaon from Gokul to protect him from the evil acts of king Kansa.

Kesi Ghat is a set of steps, leading down to the Yamuna river. People believe that Lord Krishna killed the demon Kesi and took bath in this ghat to refresh himself. Evening aarti at Kesi ghat is worth attending.

Barsana: It is about one hour ride from Vrindavan (45 kilometers). Barsana is the home town of lord Krishna’s beloved Radharani. Their childhood memories are preserved in the town. The holi festival in Barsana is famous all over the world. It is about 50 kilometers far from Vrindavan.

Radha Kund: People believe that a man who takes a dip in the Radha Kund is filled with affection for his partner for the rest of his life. There are more stories behind the formation of this kund. We suggest attending those stories yourself when you visit this place. Radha kund is only half an hour drive from Vrindavan (about 20 kilometers).

Seva Kunj is a garden of countless basil trees. Basil or Tulsi, is favourite to Lord Krishna and so is the garden dedicated to him. People also believe that the gopis (cowgirls) danced for the lord in this garden.
